For some reason I just cant get this campaign up and running.  I do not know what the problem is.  I have had good reviews about the book and I am giving up more than 40 percent of sales to start this great charity.  If anyone has any ideas about this then please let me know.  Is it because of the holiday season?  Do I have to put a video of me putting on lipstick or mascara on the internet to get noticed?  I know I am not an accomplished writer so is the book price too high?  Anyway enough ranting, I am venting a little.  I hope you end up reading the book and see that it is an enjoyable one.

  1. I saw a request on my friend Jay's FB page asking him to promote your page and website, so I went to check it out. What I was first struck by on your website, was the lack of content. Unfortunately, we live in an iPod world now, where people have no attention span and if you don't capture their attention in a matter of seconds, they move on. I was thinking that if you put up some pics of some of the vets you are trying to help, you can even use pics from the internet of homeless vets, just to put a face on the problem and the victims and whom you are trying to help, as well as a pic or two of your self during your time in the military, that will appeal to those like myself, who are visual people. Also, if you know anyone who can help you perhaps add a link or embed you or someone else reading a verse or two from the book, or just telling some of your own story. Also for the blog, personal stories told by vets you have spoken to or served with, would be very impactful. To be honest, I was interested in the idea, but then I didn't see anything to make me want to download the book on your site or on your blog. The Blog and the Facebook page should also include things like links about vets who have had a rough time of it since coming home. They go through hell in the service and come home to a whole other kind of hell. THAT is what people should see. I am so frustrated by people who turn a blind eye to what vets go through after the parades are over. Also, quoting things like, over 24% of the homeless on our streets and in shelters are female vets. You can find lots of links on YouTube showing vets telling stories. Stories about triumphs as well, would help the cause. You don't want people to feel like nothing they do can help. If you will allow, I would be willing to put up some links on your Facebook page. This time of year, is the perfect time to strike, while people are in the giving mood. And maybe run some sort of collection event like Socks For Homeless Vets at local churches or community centers and post the pics online, which is one of the events I was hoping to do with the organization I worked for, but poor health got in the way. Also, even just an excerpt from the book and a very prominent display and mention of the amount you will be donating, will help get people to notice. Good luck. I will like your FB page and will check back here to see how things are going for you.

    1. Thank you for your suggestions and ideas. Constructive criticism is good to hear and I am currently trying to make our sites more appealing to visit. I am not very Internet savy so any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
      Thanks again,
      Ken
